Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the first respondent to consider the representation dated 02.06.2025 submitted by the first petitioner and received by the first respondent on 04.06.2025 in respect the accidental insurance benefits of Rs.100 Lakhs and the funds/ other amounts of late Mrs.Mercy and further direct the first respondent to disburse the above insurance claim along with funds / other amounts available in late Mrs.Mercy's savings account to the petitioners in accordance with law.

The petitioners have filed this writ petition seeking issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to consider the representation dated 02.06.2025 submitted by the first petitioner and received by the first respondent on 04.06.2025 in respect the accidental insurance benefits of Rs.100 Lakhs and the funds/ other amounts of late Mrs.Mercy and further direct the first respondent to disburse the above insurance claim along with funds / other amounts available in late Mrs.Mercy's savings account to the petitioners in accordance with law.

2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that the first petitioner made representation dated 02.06.2025 to the first respondent seeking sanction of insurance claim under 'police salary package (PSP) - for serving personnel/ employees of Tamil Nadu Police' for the death of his wife and to freeze or place on hold his late wife's savings account and salary account, secure and restrict access to any locker registered in her name and suspend transactions relating to any insurance policies, fixed deposits, or other financial assets linked to her account and the first respondent received the said representation on 04.06.2025, however, there is no response. Hence, this Court may without going into the merits of the case, issue direction to the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 02.06.2025 and to pass appropriate orders, within a reasonable time frame.

3.Considering the limited relief sought for by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 02.06.2025, on merits and in accordance with law and to pass appropriate orders, within a 3/4

period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. M.DHANDAPANI,J.
