O R D E R

The petitioner herein apprehending arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offence punishable under Sections 6(4) of TNSC(RDCS) Order 1982 r/w Sections 7(1)(a)(ii) of E.C. Act, 1955 in Crime No.242 of 2025, registered on the file of the respondent, seeks anticipatory bail.

2.The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner joining hands with other accused, was involved in transporting 850 kgs of rice meant for the Public Distribution System, thereby committing the offences alleged. Hence, the present case has been registered.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is innocent and has been falsely implicated in the case. Hence, he prayed for grant of bail to the petitioner.

4.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) reiterated the prosecution case and submitted that the petitioner was actively involved in the offence. He further submitted that the petitioner has no previous case. However, he opposed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. Considering the nature and gravity of the offence, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

6. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 03.12.2025 kmm To 2/4
