The present Writ Petition (Criminal) has been filed seeking a direction to respondents 3 & 4 to defreeze the petitioner's bank account No. 131801502041 maintained with the fourth respondent bank, based on the petitioner's representation dated 27.09.2025. Mr.K.M.D.Muhilan, learned Additional Public Prosecutor takes notice on behalf of respondents 1 to 3. In view of the consent expressed by the learned counsel on either side, this Writ Petition (Criminal) is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. Notice to the fourth respondent is dispensed with inasmuch as no order prejudicial to its interest is passed. 2/6
The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that based on a complaint received from one Marimuthu alleging online financial fraud, an enquiry was conducted in C.S.R.No.374/2024 dated 14.03.2024. Upon enquiry, the third respondent had directed the fourth respondent to freeze the petitioner's account. Subsequently, after completion of the enquiry, the third respondent sent a communication dated 05.12.2025 to the Nodal Officer, ICICI Bank Ltd., Legal Department, seeking to defreeze the petitioner's account. He further submitted that as far as the third respondent is concerned, no other case is pending against the petitioner and that the third respondent is not aware whether any other complaint pending against the petitioner before any other agency. 5.

Accordingly, this Writ Petition (Criminal) stands disposed of with a direction to the fourth respondent to defreeze the petitioner's account, if no other complaint is pending against the petitioner. No costs. 11.12.2025 ham To 1.
