This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondent to include the petitioner's name in the panel / list of eligible candidates for promotion to the post of Block Health Supervisor under the Differently Abled persons quota, in accordance with G.O.(Ms)No.6, dated 21.06.2025 and for a consequential direction to the respondent to consider and grant the petitioner his due promotion under the reserved quota for persons with benchmark disabilities.

The petitioner was initially appointed as Field Assistant in the respondent Department on 21.07.2000 under the quota for Differently Abled Persons and was subsequently promoted as Health Inspector Grade-I in 2017. While so, the petitioner's name has not been considered for promotion under the Differently Abled Persons' quota under the category of Persons with Benchmark Disability. The petitioner claims that as per G.O.(Ms) No.6, Welfare of Differently Abled Persons (DAP 3.2) Department, dated 21.06.2025, wherein it has been expressly mandated that 4% of the total vacancies in all posts shall be reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, and that he comes under Category-C-Locomotor Disability and hence he is entitled to be considered for the reserved quota for promotion. __________Page 2 of 5
