ORDER
Mr.K. Tippusulthan, learned Government Advocate takes notice for respondents. By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
2. The relief sought in this writ petition is a direction to the respondent to include the petitioner's name in the panel/list of eligible candidates for promotion to the post of Block Health Supervisor under the Differently Abled Persons Quota, in accordance with G.O.(Ms) No.6 dated 21.06.2025 and consequently direct the respondent to consider and grant the petitioner his due promotion under the reserved quota of Persons with Benchmark Disabilities.
3. It is stated that the petitioner was initially appointed as Field Assistant on 21.07.2000 under the Differently Abled Persons Quota through the Employment Exchange. Subsequently, he was promoted to the post of Health Inspector Grade-I on 01.09.2017. At present, the respondent is in the process of preparing the promotion panel for the next higher post, namely Block Health Supervisor. It is the contention of the petitioner that he is eligible and entitled to be considered for promotion in terms of G.O. Ms. No.6, dated 21.06.2025, which mandates that 4% of the total vacancies in all posts shall be reserved for persons with benchmark disabilities. However, it has come to light that the 2/5
petitioner's name has not been included in the said panel. Hence, the present writ petition. Under such circumstances, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 25.06.2025 to the respondent seeking inclusion of his name in the promotion panel for the post of Block Health Supervisor in accordance with the aforesaid Government Order and for consequential benefits. But the same has not been considered, till date. Hence this writ petition.
4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that for non inclusion of petitioner's name in the promotion panel for the post of Block Health Supervisor, the petitioner has submitted a representation dated 25.06.2025 to the respondent. Hence, he prays that it would suffice if a direction is issued by this Court to the respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 25.06.2025, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
5. Learned counsel for the respondent, on instructions, submits that the petitioner's representation as stated supra will be considered in accordance with law.
6. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 25.06.2025, on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
