PRAYER :Civil Revision Petition filed Article 227 of Constitution of India, praying to pass an order for speedy disposal of HMOP No.122 of 2023 on the file of the Subordinate Court, Kancheepuram within a time frame fixed by this Court.

The Civil Revision petition is filed seeking direction to Sub-Court 1/5

Kancheepuram for speedy disposal of HMOP No.122 of 2023.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the divorce petition was initially filed before the Sub-Court, Srivilliputhur in HMOP.No.48 of 2021 and the same was transferred to Sub-Court, Kancheepuram and renumbered as HMOP.No.122 of 2023 It is further submitted that till date, the respondent has not filed any counter in the main OP and at the request of the respondent, the matter has been referred to mediation. Since the OP was filed in the year 2021, direction may be given to the trial court to dispose of the same as expeditiously as possible.

3. It is seen from the adjudication sheet filed in the typed set of papers, the pleadings of the parties are not yet completed and the matter has been referred to mediation on 31-07-2025. The next date of hearing is 08-01-2026. Taking into consideration the divorce petition was filed in the year 2021, the trial court is directed to ensure the mediation process gets completed by 08-012026. In case no settlement is reached, the trial court can take up the main OP 2/5

and proceed with the same in accordance with the law.

4. With this direction, the Civil Revision Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
