The present Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent police to complete the investigation and file a final report in Crime No. 33 of 2022 before the jurisdictional Court. 1/4

Learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent, on instructions, submitted that the case in Crime No.33 of 2022 was originally registered for the offences under Sections 8 r/w 7, 12 r/w 11(1), 17(r) and 16 of the POCSO Act and Section 23 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act and that during the course of investigation, the case was altered to one under Sections 294(b), 323 of IPC and Section 23 of JJ Act. He further submitted that the investigation in this case has been completed, the final report has also been before the Judicial Magistrate No.I, Tambaram, on 18.01.2026 and is yet to be taken on file. Therefore, the prayer seeking further investigation is not maintainable. 3.
Recording the submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), this Criminal Original Petition stands closed. However, the petitioner is at liberty to challenge the final report, if so advised.
