ORDER
This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of allotment order in favour of the petitioner in respect of Plot No.72, Lakshmipuram Scheme, Velachery, Chennai, based on his representations dated 27.01.2023 and 08.10.2025.
2. It is the contention of the petitioner that he has been an occupant of plot no.72, Lakshmipuram for the past 50 years and that he constructed a house and has been paying all necessary property tax, water and sewage tax to the concerned authorities till date. Though the respondents have issued several allotment orders to the occupants in that locality by demanding necessary charges towards land cost under Lakshmipuram Scheme, after following the due procedure prescribed under the Act 11 of 1972, no allotment order has been issued to the petitioner in respect of his plot. Hence, he has submitted representation on 27.01.2023 seeking issuance of allotment order in his favour in respect of the said plot. Since no steps have been taken, again, on 08.10.2025, he submitted another representation to the respondents. Thereafter, the authorities visited the house of the petitioner on 22.10.2025, however, no further steps have been taken by them so far. Hence, the present petition has been filed.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the
petitioner is ready to pay the entire amount towards the cost of land and other necessary charges as per the Board Rules.
4. Heard the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the first respondent and the learned counsel appearing for the second respondent and perused the materials available on records carefully.
5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also taking into account the limited relief sought by the petitioner, this Court directs the second Respondent to consider the representations of the petitioner dated 27.01.2023 and 08.10.2025 regarding issuance of allotment order to the petitioner in respect of Plot No.72, Lakshmipuram Scheme, Velachery, Chennai and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
