O R D E R
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent to pay interest at 8% per annum on the belated disbursement his difference in Gratuity amount and Pension Commutation amount from the date of entitlement till the date of actual disbursement and also the amount recovered towards Provident Fund from his salary arrears as sought for in his representation dated 11.02.2025 within the time that may be stipulated by this Court.

It is the case of the petitioner that the petitioner, who had joined the services of the respondent Corporation, had retired from service in the year 2010, however, his retirement benefits were wrongly calculated on the pre-revised pay scale, resulting in a shortfall of Rs.49,319/- in gratuity. Aggrieved by which, the petitioner filed a Writ Petition in W.P.No.30737 of 2018 which was disposed of vide order dated 04.12.2018 directing the respondent to pay interest at the rate of 6% on belated terminal benefits. Pursuant thereto, though the gratuity difference of Rs.49,319/- was paid only on 20.04.2019, the interest for the said amount has not been paid till date. Further, the terminal benefits such as pension commutation amount, salary arrears were also disbursed belatedly. Therefore, the 2/4
petitioner had claimed 6% interest on the belated payment of terminal benefits and he has also made representation on 11.02.2025 to pay interest for the belated payment of terminal benefits which did not evoke any response from the respondents so far. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court.
3. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.

In view of the limited request made by the petitioner with regard to interest on the belated payment of terminal benefits, this Court directs the 3rd respondent to pay interest @ 6% for the belated payment of terminal benefits from the date of retirement till the date of actual disbursal of terminal benefits of the petitioner, within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order taking into account the bank rate of interest on deposits.
5. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
