On perusal of records, it is revealed that the petitioner in WP.Crl.Nos.488 & 489 of 2026 is claiming to be the adopted daughter of the late Dr.C.R.Shoba. Certain properties were settled in favour of her by way of settlement deed and also Will. However, she is not in possession of those properties since rowdy elements have occupied the same. At the same time, the adoption deed, Will and the settlement deed executed in favour of her are under challenge by the biological son of the said late Dr.C.R.Shoba, who is arrayed as sixth respondent in WP.Crl.No.488 of 2026, in OS.No.5415 of 2025 on the file of the V Additional City Civil Court, Chennai and it is pending for adjudication. Therefore, in respect of the property dispute and also possession and enjoyment of the said properties, the adopted daughter lodged a complaint to initiate proceedings under Section 164 of BNSS. On the other hand, the sixth respondent in WP.Crl.No.488 of 2026 also filed WP.Crl.No.1516 of 2025 seeking direction not to harass him on the complaint lodged by the
