ORDER

This writ petition (criminal) has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 1 to 4 to provide police protection to the petitioner's family by considering the petitioner's representation letter dated 17.11.2025 in accordance with law.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that one Arumugam had been repeatedly giving life threat to her husband and also attempted to murder him. In this regard, the petitioner had given a complaint to the 4th respondent Police. However, since the said Arumugam is a highly influential person belonging to the ruling party, the respondents police have not registered case. Hence, the petitioner has approached this Court seeking a writ of mandamus.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent Police submitted that based on the complaint given by the petitioner dated 15.11.2025, a case in Crime No.734 of 2025 has been registered against the said Arumugam (A1) and another Nithyanantham (A2) for the offence under Section 109 (1) B.N.S, 2023. Subsequently, the petitioner has also sent another representation on 17.11.2025. Based on the FIR registered, the said Arumugam has been arrested and remanded to judicial custody. He is still in custody. Subsequently, Nithyanantham (A2) has also been arrested. Based on the further representation, a patta book has been placed at the residence of the petitioner

and Regular Beat Police are visiting the house of the petitioner and giving protection.

4. Recording the said submission made, this writ petition (criminal) stands disposed of. No costs.
