Criminal Miscellaneous Petition filed under Section 528 of BNSS, 2023, to extend the time for further period for four weeks in Crl.OP.No.28972 of 2025 dated 27.10.2025 to surrender and consider the bail petition on the same day itself.

ORDER
Vide order dated 27.10.2025 made in Crl.OP.No.28972 of 2025, this Court had directed the petitioner to surrender before the jurisdictional court within a period of fifteen days from the date of the said order. The present criminal miscellaneous petition has been filed seeking to extend the time to surrender before the concerned court and for consideration of the bail petition on the same day of his surrender.
2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that as there was a temporary boycott of courts by the Advocates in the Chengalpattu District Court for a certain period, the petitioner could not surrender and file a bail petition before the court concerned within the stipulated time, in compliance with the order of this Court, which is neither wilful nor wanton. Accordingly, he prayed for appropriate orders.
3. On the above said contentions, heard the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondents and also perused the materials available on record.

4. Considering the reasons assigned in the affidavit filed in support of this petition and also considering the above submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court is inclined to extend the time for compliance of the directions of this Court issued by order dated 27.10.2025.
5. Accordingly, this Criminal Miscellaneous Petition stands ordered and the petitioner is directed to surrender before the court concerned within a period of one week from today.
