Respondent Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent to recalculate the water and sewerage charges and tax based on the revised annual let-out value reduced from Rs.22,058/- to Rs.16,790/- from II(2010-2011), without levying surcharge or penal charges, and to give due credit for the excess payments made by the Petitioner; further, to raise a fresh demand in accordance with law in respect of CMC No.09/113/08985/000 after merging the same with CMC No.09/111/00981/000 and 09/113/T01052, aligning the assessment with the corresponding property tax revisions effected by the Corporation of Chennai.

ORDER

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel for the Respondent.

2. This Writ Petition is disposed of at the time of admission, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case by directing the Respondents to consider the Petitioner's representation dated 22.07.2025 and pass appropriate orders on merits as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

3. The learned Standing Counsel for the Respondent would submit that Petitioner should file copies of the necessary documents regarding re-assessment of the property tax.

4. Needless to state, before passing such order, the Petitioner shall also be heard.

5. This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above observations. No costs.
