The petitioner herein apprehending arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offence punishable under Sections 6(4) of TNSC(RDCS) Order 1982 r/w Sections 7(1)(a)(ii) of E.C. Act, 1955 in Crime No.331 of 2025, registered on the file of the respondent, seeks anticipatory bail.

2.The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner joining hands with other accused, was involved in transporting 1,700 kgs of rice meant for public distribution system. Hence, the present case. 3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is innocent and has been falsely implicated in the case and hence, he prayed for grant of bail to the petitioner.

4.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) reiterated the prosecution case and submitted that, petitioner has one similar previous case, and quantity involved is huge and investigation is pending.

5. Considering the nature of the gravity of the offence and considering the fact that the petitioner has one similar previous case, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

6. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 03.12.2025 kmm 2/4
