O R D E R
(Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM,J.,) The Revenue Authorities during field inspection identified the encroachments in the Government land. Enforcement action under the provisions of the Land Encroachment Act, 1905 has been initiated. Section 7 notice was issued and after affording opportunity to the encroachers, final notice under Section 6 came to be issued.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has preferred an appeal before the District Collection on 07.05.2025, which is yet to be disposed of.
3. It is needless to state that all such statutory appeals should be disposed of systematically in the order of seniority and by maintaining a filing register by the Collector. Long pendency of these appeals may cause prejudice to the persons who are submitting representation. Thus, the District Collector shall initiate appropriate action to dispose of the appeals in a systematic manner and in the order of seniority, including the appeal filed by the petitioner as expeditiously as possible. 2/4
4. With the above observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
