ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondents to update the revenue records namely, A-register, Chitta, Adangal, Patta etc. in favour of the respective petitioners for the properties in their possession. 2.The petitioners claim that they belong to Arunthadiyar community and they are entitled for free house site pattas and the assignment orders have also been issued in their names for their respective properties. According to them, till date, the revenue records have not been updated by the respondents recording the names of the respective petitioners as notified beneficiaries under the respective assignment orders. The petitioners have given a representation for the said purpose. Since the same has not been considered by the respondents, the petitioners have filed this writ petition.

3.Mr.C.Jayaprakash, learned Government Advocate accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. He would submit, on instructions that the representation of the petitioners seeking for updation of the revenue records for the properties in which the petitioners are in possession is under consideration

and if sufficient time is granted, the village revenue records will be updated within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. 4.For the foregoing reasons, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the fourth respondent to update the village revenue records for the respective properties in the possession of the respective petitioners, who are notified beneficiaries under the respective assignment orders, morefully disclosed in the affidavit filed in support of this writ petition within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
