ORDER

Pursuant to an out of Court settlement arrived at between the petitioner and the defendants in O.S.No.5256 of 2025 on the file of the XXI Additional City Civil Court, Chennai, a sale deed was executed on 18.11.2025 in favour of the petitioner. On the ground that the registering authority is not taking necessary measures to register the document, the 2/5

present writ petition has been filed.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the sale deed has been admitted by the registering authority and that after admission there is no power to refuse registration under the Registration Act, 1908. He also submits that there is no other impediment in view of the settlement arrived at between the petitioner and the vendors.

3. Learned Special Government Pleader, accepts notice for all the respondents. He submits that a decision would be taken on the petitioner's request for registration within one week from the date of presentation of the document.

4. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the third respondent to take a decision on the petitioner's request for registration 3/5
