Thiruvallur District with the lands offered by the Petitioner concern in Consonance with G.O.Ms. 201 dated 10.05.2022, issued by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, land Disposal Wing LD3 (1) Section and pass.

ORDER

The petitioner seeks for exchange of his patta land for Government land. The petitioner claims to have given various representations and a last such representation was given on 28.07.2025. The petitioner claims that if the lands are exchanged, it will be mutually beneficial to the petitioner as well as the Government.

2.Mr.D.Ravichander, learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

3.No prejudice would be caused to the respondents if the petitioner's representation seeking for exchange of lands is considered, on merits and in accordance with law, after providing an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

4.This Court is not expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's representation.

5.For the foregoing reasons, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the first respondent to pass final orders, on merits and in accordance with law on the petitioner's last representation dated 28.07.2025 seeking for exchange of the Government land, morefully described in the prayer to this writ petition for the petitioner's patta land as prayed for in the said representation, after holding an enquiry by affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6.At this stage, when this Court has expressed that it may not be possible for the respondents to pass final orders within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, learned senior counsel appearing for the petitioner submits, on instructions, that the petitioner shall not initiate contempt proceedings against the respondents if the deadline fixed by this Court is not obeyed by the respondents. No costs.
