PRAYER : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the 1st and 2nd respondents herein to forthwith consider the representation dated 14.08.2025 and to remove the illegal/unlawful encroachment made by the 3rd respondent Ellammal alias Bhargavi, on the public road situated at Plot No.15, Old survey No.246/4A, New No.246/5A, No.44, Vishnukanchi Village, Saravana Nagar, Kancheepuram Taluka and Kancheepuram District and further to ensure the restoration of the public road to its original width and condition, allowing free movement for all residents and the general public.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) The petitioner has filed this petition seeking issuance of a direction to remove encroachment put up by the third respondent on the municipal road.

2. It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that a representation has been made on 14.8.2025 for removal of encroachment giving details of the concrete ramp illegally constructed by the third respondent on the public road. Photographs have also been filed.

3. We direct the second respondent to conduct sport survey, if not already conducted, and if the ramp is found to be illegally encroaching upon the public road, proper action shall be taken within an outer limit of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

Writ petition is disposed of accordingly. There shall be no order as to costs.
