ORDER
This writ petition has been filed, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 08.08.2025 and pass orders within a stipulated period as fixed by this Court.
2.The case of the petitioner is that he was appointed as Sanitary Inspector on 14.09.2020 in Perambalur Town Panchayat through the Employment Exchange. On 09.07.2021, he was transferred to Lalgudi Town Panchayat, which was subsequently upgraded as Lalgudi Municipality by Government Order dated 07.12.2021. Due to his mother being bedridden, the petitioner sought transfer to any Town Panchayat within Trichy District. However, despite the issuance of a Government Order dated 03.10.2022 permitting
employees to opt to work either in Town Panchayats or Municipalities, the petitioner's name was omitted. Therefore, the petitioner made several representations on 11.11.2022, 20.03.2023, 27.11.2024, 23.12.2024 and 08.08.2025 seeking transfer back to the parent department and consideration for promotion. However, when the promotion list was issued on 28.10.2024, his name was not included, while 57 other Sanitary Inspectors were considered. Further, by proceedings dated 21.04.2025 and 19.05.2025, employees similarly placed and even juniors to the petitioner, who were working in Town Panchayats, were either transferred to their parent department or promoted, whereas the petitioner was not considered solely because he remained posted in a Municipality. Despite repeated follow-ups and personal visits, no orders have been passed till date. Due to the prolonged delay and inaction of the respondents, the petitioner continues to suffer prejudice in both service conditions and promotional opportunities. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.
3.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that it would
suffice, if a direction is issued to the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's representation within a reasonable time to be fixed by this Court. 4.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the st respondent will consider the petitioner's respondents would submit that the 1 representation and pass appropriate orders within a reasonable time as fixed by this Court.
5.Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel for the st petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the 1 respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 08.08.2025 on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders, within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order,
6. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. 10-12-2025
