ORDER

The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody

on 12.10.2025 for the alleged offence punishable under Sections 296(b) and 109(1) of BNS, in Crime No.634 of 2025 on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail.

2. The allegation against the petitioner is that, he being the husband of the victim, due to property dispute and quarreled with her, attacked her with a sickle and severed her left hand. Hence, a complaint was lodged and the petitioner was arrested.

3. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is in judicial custody since 12.10.2025 and that the alleged occurrence was not a premeditated act, but took place due to a sudden quarrel. Hence, he prayed to grant bail to the petitioner.

4. Learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent reiterated the prosecution case and submitted that the petitioner severed the victim's left hand of the victim and that the injured is still under treatment for loss of hand. Hence, he opposed to grant bail to the petitioner.

5. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.

6. Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, the fact that the petitioner has severed the victim's left hand,

and that the investigation is not yet completed, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
