..Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 03.11.2025 seeking for

the registration of petitioner's property bearing Old Site No.11, New Site No.12, comprised in S.No.221/1A, situated at Goundampalayam Village, Coimbatore Taluk, Coimbatore District, having an extent of 1590 Sq.ft. For Petitioner:

ORDER

The petitioner purchased site no.11 in S.No.221/1A under sale deed dated 23.01.1992 and also obtained a patta in respect thereof. Upon presenting a sale deed for registration, it is stated that the respondents orally informed the petitioner that there is a discrepancy in the site number.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that old site no.11 is now new site no.12. He also submits that the boundaries are described in the sale deed and that the petitioner has also enclosed an extract from the Town Survey Land Register.

3. Mr.U.Baranidharan, learned Special Government Pleader, accepts

notice for all the respondents. He submits that the third respondent does not have the authority to carry out any rectification with regard to the site numbers. Without prejudice, he submits that the representation would be considered and disposed of on merits. Since the acknowledgement card has not been filed, he submits that the petitioner may be directed to submit a fresh representation.

4. Considering the aforesaid, the writ petition is disposed of on the following terms:

(i) The petitioner shall submit a fresh representation to the third respondent seeking registration of the sale deed within two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

(ii) Within two weeks from the date of receipt thereof, the third respondent is directed to consider and dispose of such representation on merits after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner. There will be no order as to costs.
