Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner seeks permission of this Court to withdraw the petition and has also made an endorsement to that effect. He would state that though the case was registered in the year 2019, the charge sheet has been filed only in the year 2025. He would therefore seek a direction to the learned Magistrate to commit the case to the Court of Session, so as to enable the petitioner to face trial and have the matter concluded at the earliest. 2.

The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the 1st respondent would submit that 1st accused is in custody and that accused Nos.2 and 4 are regularly appearing before the Court.

In view of the submission and endorsement made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed as withdrawn. However, taking note of the above facts, this Court directs the X Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore, Chennai, to commit the case in P.R.C.No.402 of 2025 to the Court of Session at the earliest, preferably within a 2 / 5
