.. Respondents Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 17.11.2025 and depot the petitioner to Sri Lanka, immediately.

ORDER
(The Order of the Court was made by P.Velmurugan, J) This Writ Petition is filed praying to direct the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 17.11.2025 and deport the petitioner to Sri Lanka, immediately.
2. The petitioner is a Sri Lankan citizen. She came to India on 13.06.2019 by Air from Sri Lanka. She stayed in Chennai and Chengalpattu Districts. Due to Covid-19, she is unable to return to Sri Lanka and now the petitioner wants to return to Sri Lanka and she had obtained Sri Lanka Passport. She had applied for her exit permit before the respondent and the exit permission application is dated 12.09.2025. However, the authority had not taken any steps to give the exit permit to the petitioner. She is a 74-year old woman and lives without anyone to support her in her old age. The State Police/respondents 5 and 6 are harassing the petitioner in the name of investigation for granting No Objection
Certificate. She fears that she would die as an orphan. Therefore, the petitioner periodically appear before the respondent Nos.4 to 6 and request that steps be taken to send the petitioner to Sri Lanka immediately. However, the authorities have not taken any action. Hence, the petitioner made a representation dated 17.11.2025 and request to the respondents to take appropriate steps to deport the petitioner to Sri Lanka in accordance with law immediately. However, the respondents have not considered the petitioner's representation, dated 17.11.2025 in accordance with law. Hence, this petition is filed for the prayer stated supra.
3. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.
4. The respondents 2 to 4 are directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 17.11.2025 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible.
5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
