Respondents Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 3 and 4 to renew the petitioner's Certificate of Notary Public Practice - File No.11013/1732/2018-NC bearing Registration No.22097 dated 02.06.2020 within a time frame that may be fixed by this Court. O R D E R

The petitioner seeks a direction to Respondents 3 and 4 to renew the petitioner's Certificate of Notary Public Practice by considering his application dated 30.12.2024.

2. The petitioner is a practicing Advocate and on 02.06.2020, he was appointed as a Notary Public under the Notaries Act, 1952 and was authorized to practice in Chennai for a period of five years and his certificate to practice as Notary Public expired on 02.06.2025. It is submitted by the petitioner that due to sudden illness, he could not apply for renewal of his 2/5

Notary Public Certificate in time and hence, his application sent on 30.12.2024 with a delay has not been considered.

3. Mr.R.Sidharth, learned Central Government Counsel, who accepted notice for the respondents, submitted that the petitioner's application will be considered and orders will be passed within a period of two months.

4. In view of the above submissions of the learned Central Government Counsel, this writ petition is disposed of directing the respondents to consider the application of the petitioner dated 30.12.2024 on its own merits and in accordance with law and pass an order within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
