COMMON ORDER These writ petitions have been filed to direct the respondents to pay interest at 8% per annum for the belated payment of Provident Fund, Earned Leave Salary, Gratuity and Pension Commutation Amount to the petitioners.

It is the case of the learned counsel for the petitioners that the petitioners joined the services of respondent Corporation as Driver and Junior Tradesman on 16.01.1991 and 06.05.1992 and retired from service from on 31.08.2022 and 31.07.2023 respectively. It is further stated by the learned counsel for the petitioners that surrender leave salary, gratuity, pension commutation and provident fund were paid to the petitioners only on 25.06.2023 and 25.08.2025 respectively. Therefore, the petitioners submitted a representation to the respondents on 15.09.2025 seeking payment of interest at 8% per annum for the belated settlement of retirement benefits, however, the same has not been considered till date. Hence, the petitioners have filed these writ petitions.
3. Heard the learned counsels appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.
4. In view of the limited request made by the petitioners with regard to interest on the belated settlement of retirement benefits, this Court directs the 3/6
respondents to pay interest @ 6% for the belated payment of retirement benefits from the date of retirement till the date of actual disbursal of retirement benefits of the petitioners, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order taking into account the bank rate of interest on deposits.
5. Accordingly, these Writ Petitions are disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
