ORDER
The relief sought in this writ petition is a direction to the respondents to disburse all post-retirement benefits, PF amount, and pension amount to the petitioner based on the Judgment and decree dated 27.07.2016 passed in O.S. No.320 of 2009 on the file of the Additional District Munsif Court at
2. It is stated that the petitioner is the legally wedded wife of late Vedhagiri, who was employed as a Trace man in the respondent Corporation. The marriage between the petitioner and the said Vedhagiri was duly solemnized. Owing to matrimonial disputes, the petitioner was deserted by her husband, pursuant to which she was constrained to file Criminal M.P. No.1 of 1989 seeking maintenance. Despite the directions issued therein, the husband failed to comply with the same.

It is the case of the petitioner that the said Vedhagiri had executed an affidavit during his lifetime before a Notary Public stating that the petitioner would not be entitled to pension and death-cum-retirement benefits after his demise. Challenging the same and asserting her lawful status, the petitioner filed 2/6
O.S. No.320 of 2009 on the file of the Additional District Munsif Court, Kanchipuram. During the pendency of the said suit, the petitioner's husband expired on 14.02.2009. Thereafter, the petitioner impleaded the respondents herein seeking Provident Fund, pensionary and other death-cum-retirement benefits.
4. The Civil Court, by judgment and decree dated 27.07.2016, decreed the suit in favour of the petitioner. The said judgment and decree were produced before the respondents for compliance. As the benefits were not disbursed, the petitioner, who had been deserted for nearly 20 years, approached this Court by filing the present writ petition seeking disbursement of pension and death-cumretirement benefits.

This Court, by its earlier order dated 17.12.2025, directed the respondents to disburse all post-retirement benefits, including Provident Fund and pensionary benefits, to the petitioner, based on the decree passed in O.S. No.320 of 2009, on or before 12.01.2026, subject to there being no legal impediment.

Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, learned Standing Counsel appearing for respondents 1 and 2 submitted that pursuant to the said directions, the respondents have filed a Memo of Compliance dated 12.01.2026, stating that pension arrears to the tune of Rs.7,45,593/- have been paid to the petitioner by way of cheque and that further arrears amounting to Rs.7,45,593/- have been paid through the Pension Trust, aggregating to a total sum of approximately Rs.14,00,000/-. It is further stated that the family pension for the month of December 2025, to the tune of Rs.12,848/-, has also been paid to the petitioner on 05.01.2026. In view of the above compliance, no further orders are necessary and the writ petition may be closed.
7. The aforesaid submission has been admitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner.
8. Recording the above submissions, the writ petition is closed. No costs. The said Memo of compliance, dated 12.01.2026 is taken on record. 12.01.2026 Index:Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order vsi2 4/6
