This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent to correct the spelling of name of petitioner's mother from "Charbaunnissa" to "Charbounnissa" in the entry made for registering petitioner's birth in the birth register maintained by the second respondent by considering the petitioner's application dated 25.08.2025 and to issue a corrected birth certificate.
2. It is the grievance of the petitioner that in the birth certificate of the petitioner, her mother's name has been misspelt as "Charbaunnissa" instead of "Charbounnissa" and hence, the petitioner made an application on 25.08.2025 to the second respondent with supporting documents, but till date no action has been taken by the second respondent. Hence, the petitioner has come forward with the present writ petition.
3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader, who accepts notice, for the first respondent. By consent of both sides, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
4. Considering the limited relief sought for in the writ petition, the petitioner is directed to submit the documents wherein her mother's name 2/4
has been correctly spelt within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and on receipt of those documents, the second respondent shall consider and make necessary correction in the name of the petitioner's mother in the birth register of the petitioner and issue a fresh birth certificate to the petitioner within a period of two months thereafter. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of . There shall be no order as to costs.
