ORDER

This writ petition has been filed, seeking for a direction to the second respondent to transfer the patta in the name of the legal heirs of late K. Kuppusamy Naidu for the property morefully described in the prayer to this writ

petition based on the petitioner's representation dated 20.05.2025 within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

2. The petitioner claims that the legal heirs of late K. Kuppusamy Naidu are the owners of the property morefully described in the prayer to this writ petition. However, according to the petitioner, the revenue records show that the property belongs to the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB). In such circumstances, the petitioner has given a representation on 20.05.2025 to the second respondent, which is in the form of an appeal, seeking for change of classification and for issuance of patta for the property in favour of the legal heirs of the late K. Kuppusamy Naidu. Since the said representation has not been considered till date, this writ petition has been filed.

3. Mr.D.Ravichander, learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

4. No prejudice would be caused to the respondents if the petitioner's representation as stated supra is considered on merits and in accordance with law within a time frame to be fixed by this Court after hearing the objections of the CMWSSB and any other third party whom the second respondent deems fit to enquire.

5. This Court is not expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's representation.

6. For the foregoing reasons, this Court directs the second respondent to pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law on the petitioner's representation dated 20.05.2025, seeking for change of classification and for transfer of patta in the name of the legal heirs of late K. Kuppusamy Naidu for the property morefully described in the prayer to this writ petition within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after hearing the objections of the CMWSSB and any other third party whom the second respondent deems fit to enquire.

7. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of.
