ORDER
(made by P.VELMURUGAN, J.) The habeas corpus petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to produce the petitioner's mother viz. Vijaya, W/o.George, aged about 72 years, before this Court and set her at liberty forthwith. 2.
It is the case of the petitioner that his mother Vijaya, aged about 72 years, who is a physically challenged person (deaf and dumb), often used to visit his sister's house and come back; during the month of March 2025, his mother left home and thereafter, did not return and therefore, he lodged a
complaint before the Inspector of Police, Chitadripet Police Station, pursuant to which, his mother was secured from an old age Home at Nanganallur; while so, on 22.11.2025 again his mother left the home around 8.30 a.m. and did not return; since her whereabouts were not known, he lodged a complaint before the second respondent/police on 24.11.2025, pursuant to which, a case was registered in Crime No.277 of 2025 under 'woman missing'; since the police are not taking effective steps to secure his mother, he has filed the present habeas corpus petition. 3.
The second respondent/police has secured the detenue and produced her before this Court today. The petitioner is also present before this Court.
4.
Since the detenue Vijaya is a physically challenged person and she herself is not in a position to know and say the whereabouts of her, she has been handed over to the petitioner and the petitioner has given undertaking that he will take good care of his mother.
Recording the same, this habeas corpus petition is closed. (P.V., J.) (M.J.R., J.) 02.01.2026 nsd
