ORDER

This criminal original petition has been filed seeking to direct the learned Metropolitan Magistrate-Fast Track Court No.V, Saidapet to number the complaint given by the petitioner in STC.SR.No.6832 of 2025 within the stipulated time frame by this Court.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner filed a complaint u/s.138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 in STC.SR.No.6832 of 2025 filed on 21.03.2025 before the Metropolitan Magistrate-Fast Track Court No.V, Saidapet, as against the respondent. However, the said complaint has not yet been numbered, necessitating the filing of the present petition.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that despite there being no legal impediment, the complaint filed by the petitioner under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 has not been numbered till date. Hence, he seeks to issue a direction to the learned Magistrate to number the complaint and proceed in accordance with law. 2/4

4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and perused the materials available on record.

5. In the light of the above submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court directs the learned Metropolitan Magistrate-Fast Track Court No.V, Saidapet, to number the complaint in STC.SR.No.6832 of 2025 on 21.03.2025 as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
