ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 29.11.2025 for redemption of his property from the respondents 2 and 3.

2. According to the petitioner, a house site bearing No.166 at Solapuram was allotted to him on 23.03.1995 by the Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board, and he had been residing there peacefully and enjoying the property. The petitioner, who is aged about 79 years , is facing several health issues due to his old age, and had shifted to Kodungaiyur. Taking Advantage of his absence, in the year 2015, the respondents 2 and 3, with the support of local political influence, unlawfully occupied the said house site allotted to the petitioner. Despite repeated requests and complaints, the respondents have not vacated the property. Hence, the petitioner submitted a representation to the first respondent seeking redemption of the said property from the respondents 2 and 3. However, no action has been taken so far. Hence, the present writ petition.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on records carefully.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, and taking note of the limited relief sought, this Court directs the petitioner to submit a fresh representation to the Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board, Chennai, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On receipt of the same, the first respondent is directed to consider the representation and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks thereafter.

5. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed. of. There shall be no order as to costs.
