Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st respondent to dispose the appeal dated 5.11.2025 filed by the petitioner against the order of punishment passed by the 2nd respondent in Ku.A.No. 003035/ Ni.Pi.A/ Vu.1/ 2025 dated 18.07.2025.

ORDER
Mr.P. Subramanian, learned counsel takes notice for respondents. By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
2. The relief sought in this writ petition is a direction to the 1st respondent to dispose the appeal dated 05.11.2025 filed by the petitioner against the order of punishment passed by the 2nd respondent in Ku.A.No. 003035/ Ni.Pi.A/ Vu.1/ 2025 dated 18.07.2025.
3. The petitioner joined the service of the respondent Corporation as a Technical Assistant on 12.03.2014. Thereafter, he was promoted and is presently working as Junior Engineer-I Grade at Adari, Cuddalore. While so, based on an allegation of sexual harassment, which according to the petitioner was levelled with an ill motive, the 2nd respondent imposed the punishment of censure on the 2/4
petitioner vide proceedings dated 18.07.2025, based on enquiry conducted by the respondents 3 to 7 (Vishaka Committee). Aggrieved by the said order of punishment, the petitioner preferred a statutory appeal before the 1st respondent on 05.11.2025. However, till date, no orders have been passed on the said appeal. Hence this writ petition.
4. Learned counsel for the petitioner prays for a direction to the 1st respondent to dispose of the said appeal within a time frame.
5. Acceding to the aforesaid submission, learned counsel for the respondents submitted his no objection for issuance of such a direction.
6. Accordingly, this Court directs the 1st respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's statutory appeal dated 05.11.2025, on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
7. With the above directions, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
