Respondent(s) PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to direct the 2nd and 3rd respondents, to take appropriate action against the erring police officials attached with the 5th to 11th respondents police station, who have brutally assaulted the petitioner's grandson Anand by detaining him illegally under the guise of investigation based on the petitioner's representation dated 19-11-2025 and to pay just and reasonable compensation and damages to fracture injury sustained by the petitioner's grandson. ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second and third respondents to take appropriate action against the erring police officials
attached with the 5th to 11th respondents police station, who have brutally assaulted the petitioner's grandson Anand by detaining him illegally under the guise of investigation, based on the petitioner's representation dated 19.11.2025 and to pay just and reasonable compensation and damages to the fracture injury sustained by the petitioner's grandson.
2. The petitioner, alleging that her grandson was brutally assaulted by the respondents 5 to 11 at the instance of one Muthukumar, Deputy Superintendent of Police, has sent a representation to the respondents 1 to 3 for taking necessary action against them. Since no action has been taken based on the said representation, the petitioner had approached this Court seeking a writ of mandamus as stated above.

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents 1 to 3, on instructions, would submit that the representation of the petitioner is pending with the second respondent, who has to take necessary action. He would further submit that the grandson of the petitioner is a history sheeter in P2 PS GS No.60/2023, "B" category.
4. In view of the above submissions of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, the second respondent shall forward the representation of the petitioner to the Joint Commissioner, North, who shall conduct an enquiry and
dispose of the representation of the petitioner within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition [Criminal] stands disposed of.
