ORDER
This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's request for grant of electricity service connection to the petitioner's property.
2. According to the petitioner, he had purchased a commercial property at Bodinayagampatti Village, Salem South Zone, Suramangalam from one Muhammed Sugaibideen under a registered sale deed bearing No.9297 of 2024 dated 26.12.2024. The vendor has already paid a sum of Rs.12,717/- towards electricity service connection on 14.05.2024 and has also obtained necessary completion certificate from the Director of Salem City Municipal Corporation. However, his application for electricity service connection was rejected.
3. After purchase, on 17.11.2025, the petitioner had applied for a new electricity service connection in respect of the said property. However, the application is still pending consideration by the respondent. Further, the petitioner had also paid a sum of Rs.13,725/- on 04.12.2025 towards service connection through the TANGEDCO online payment Portal. Since electricity service connection has not been provided till date, the petitioner has approached this Court by filing the present writ petition.
4. The learned counsel appearing for the respondent would submit that the respondent will consider the petitioner's application and provide electricity service connection within a period of one month.
5. Recording the said submission, this writ petition stands disposed of with a direction to the respondent to provide electricity service connection to the petitioner's property within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
