Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Section 226 of the Constitution of India for issue of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 7 to permit the Kottupakkam Villagers to conduct Annual Festival going to be held on 14.01.2026 at Arulmigu Karunakara Perumal Temple, Arulmighu Paradesi Arumugasami Temple, Arulmighu Karunakara Dharmaraja Temple in Kottupakkam Village and thereby by allowing them to let their cattle on the coming "Mattu Pongal" day (16/01/2026) in the Mandaveli Poramboku land in S.No.55 at Kottupakkam Village 2/8
first and then the villagers of Melacherry be allowed to let their cattle in the Mandaveli Prormboku land allotted to their S.No.56 and consequently issue directions to respondents 4, 5, and 7 to give police protection to them to conduct the festival without any interference by Melacherry Villagers as per the Decree and Judgment of Permanent Injunction dated 29.04.2009 in O.S.No.108/2007, Sub Court, Cheyyar by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 08.12.2025. O R D E R
This writ petition is filed for the following relief: "To direct respondents 1 to 7 to permit the Kottupakkam Villagers to conduct Annual Festival going to be held on 14.01.2026 at Arulmigu Karunakara Perumal Temple, Arulmighu Paradesi Arumugasami Temple, Arulmighu Karunakara Dharmaraja Temple in Kottupakkam Village and thereby by allowing them to let 3/8
their cattle on the coming "Mattu Pongal" day (16/01/2026) in the Mandaveli Poramboku land in S.No.55 at Kottupakkam Village first and then the villagers of Melacherry be allowed to let their cattle in the Mandaveli Prormboku land allotted to their S.No.56 and consequently issue directions to respondents 4, 5, and 7 to give police protection to them to conduct the festival without any interference by Melacherry Villagers as per the Decree and Judgment of Permanent Injunction dated 29.04.2009 in O.S.No.108/2007, Sub Court, Cheyyar by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 08.12.2025."

Today, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) would submit that the intimation has already been issued by the jurisdictional Police Station to the Tahsildar, Chettupattu Taluk, Thiruvannamalai, to conduct Peace Committee Meeting. He would also submitted that on 09.01.2026, the Peace Committee Meeting would be held by the Tahsildar.

3. Recording the above submission, this writ petition is disposed of. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed. No costs.
4. It is needless to state that the 6th respondent / Tahsildar shall take decision as expeditiously as possible, taking into account the fact that the festival is proposed to be held on 16.01.2026. 07.01.2026 Index : Yes/No Internet : Yes/No kan 5/8
