ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) The prayer in this writ petition, filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, is to restrain the respondents from proceeding with the construction or operation of the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) and from discharging treated or untreated sewage into or in the vicinity of Chinnavedampatti Lake, Coimbatore North Taluk, Coimbatore District.
2. We have issued notice to the respondents and the respondents have also filed their counter-affidavit. We have also directed that the respondents shall not operate the sewage treatment plant, without the permission of the Pollution Control Board.
3. Learned Additional Advocate-General submits that on 06.05.2026, consent has been given by the Pollution Control Board and based on the said consent, the respondents are free to proceed in the matter.
4. At this juncture, learned counsel for the petitioner seeks permission to withdraw the writ petition with liberty to approach the National Green Tribunal and seek appropriate remedy, in accordance with law.
5. Giving such liberty, this petition stands disposed of. There will be no order as to costs. Consequently, WMP Nos.54884, 54874 of 2025 and 14093 of 2026 stand closed.
