Petitioner to the post of P.G. Assistant (Zoology) (Roll number 25PG0704200163) in pursuant to the TRB Notification No. 02/2025 dated 10.07.2025 by considering B.Sc. Advanced Zoology and Biotechnology Degree qualification awarded by Bharathiyar University as eligible qualification for the post of P.G. Assistant (Zoology) in consideration of representation submitted by the Petitioner through Email dated 08.12.2025. PRAYER in W.P. No.48900 of 2025 : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to pass orders for selection and appointment of the petitioner to the post of P.G. Assistant (Zoology) (Roll number 25PG0722290253) in pursuant to the TRB Notification No. 02/2025 dated 10.07.2025 by considering B.Sc.
Advanced Zoology and Biotechnology Degree qualification awarded by Bharathiyar University as eligible qualification for the post of P.G. Kathiravan for R3 COMMON ORDER Since the issue involved in these writ petitions is one and the same, with the consent of the learned counsel appearing for the parties, these writ petitions are heard together and disposed of by way of this common order.
2. It is stated that petitioners belong to MBC/BCM communities and possesses the requisite educational qualifications for appointment to the post of P.G. Assistant (Zoology). It is the case of the petitioners that they completed B.Sc (Advanced Zoology and Biotechnology) from Bharathiyar University, which is declared as equivalent to B.Sc (Zoology). Pursuant to Notification No.2/2025, dated 10.07.2025 issued by the respondent / TRB, petitioners have applied for the post of P.G. Assistant (Zoology) as per their respective categories viz., BCM / MBC. Subsequently, they participated in the written examination and secured 85 marks and pursuant to which, they have been shortlisted for Certificate Verification on 06.12.2025.
3. It is the grievance of the petitioners that during Certificate verification, the officials of the respondents rejected the equivalence of the petitioners' U.G. qualification quoting G.O. Ms. No.104, dated 22.06.2012 relates only to the academic year 2005-2006. According to the petitioners, the said rejection is erroneous and the same is arbitrary. Being aggrieved by the non-consideration of the petitioners' candidatures, they have submitted seprate representations by way of e-mail to the respondents on 08.12.2025 and 09.12.2025 seeking to consider the educational qualification possessed by them as equivalence to B.Sc 3/6
(Zoology) and include their names in the selection and appointment to the post of P.G. Assistant (Zoology) . However, the aforesaid requests have not been considered by the respondnets, till date. Hence, these writ petitions.
4. Learned Senior Counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that G.O. Ms. No.104, dated 22.06.2012 clarifies that the degree acquired by the petitioners was only a change in nomenclature without alteration of syllabus and the University also confirmed the equivalence of the petitioners' qualification vide Memo, dated 06.08.2025. Therefore, he contended that the petitioners have fully satisfied the eligbility criteria prescribed under the recruitment Notification. Without considering the claim of the petitioners, merely rejecting the petitioners' candidature is unsustainable. Further, he submitted that a decision has to be arrived at by the respondents in the above aspect before publishing the selection final list. In view of the above, he prayed for issuance of appropriate directions in the above regard, within a short time frame.
5. In response, Mrs.Mythreye Chandru, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 and 2 submitted that this Court may issue directions to the 3rd respondent to consider the aforesaid claim made by the petitioners.

6. Conceding the above submision, learned counsel for the 3rd respondent submitted that appropriate orders will be issued in the above regard within the scheduled time prescribed by this Court.

In view of the aforesaid submissions, this Court without going into the merits of the case, directs the 3rd respondent to pass appropriate orders on the petitioners' representations dated 08.12.2025 and 09.12.2025, on merits and in accordance with law and decide the issue of equivalence claimed by the petitioners, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
