ORDER

This writ petition is filed to direct the respondent to pay the petitioner the amount of Rs.23,992/- payable as wages towards 45 days of earned leave surrendered by him, while he was in service, as admitted by the petitioner in their RTI, together with 12% interest from the date of his retirement.

2. By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner retired from the service of the respondent as Checking Inspector on 31.05.2018 and surrendered 45 days of earned leave from his leave credit from the years 2008-2011, before his retirement. But, the respondent failed to pay the amount of Rs.23,922/- payable as wages towards those earned leave surrendered by the petitioner. In this regard, the petitioner has also sent a representation dated 20.09.2025 to the respondent. However, no order was passed by the respondent, as on date. Hence, the petitioner has come forward with the present writ petition.

Though many grounds have been raised in this writ petition, learned counsel for the petitioner would submits that, it would suffice, if this Court issues direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 20.09.2025 with applicable interest, as expeditiously as possible.

5. Learned counsel appearing for the respondent would submits that the petitioner's representation dated 20.09.2025 will be considered and appropriate orders will be passed, within a time frame that may be stipulated by this Court.

6. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.

Considering the limited relief sought by the petitioner, this Court directs the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 20.09.2025 and disburse a sum of Rs.23,922/- with 6% interest along with other eligible benefits, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the aforesaid direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
