ORDER
Out of a total extent of about 2050 sq.mts. owned by the petitioner's family, about 1804 sq.mts. was acquired under the National Highways Act, 1956. From and out of the remaining extent of 246 sq.mts, the petitioner asserts that about 6 cents was settled in his favour by his father under settlement deed dated 04.09.2024. Apprehending that the respondent authorities may take over and lay a road over the 6 cents owned by the petitioner, the petitioner issued a representation in that regard and thereafter filed this writ petition.

2. Learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice for respondents 1 and 2 and Mr.Su.Srinivasan, learned standing counsel, accepts notice for the third respondent. On behalf of the third respondent, it is submitted categorically that there is no intention to acquire the remaining extent of 246 sq.mts. and that no road would be laid thereon, including on the 6 cents forming part of the larger extent of 246 sq.mts.
3. In view of the above categorical assertion, the petitioner's apprehension stands allayed. By recording the statement of standing counsel for the NHAI, this writ petition is disposed of.
