ORDER

The petitioner apprehends arrest for the alleged offence under Sections 4(1)(aa) of TNP Act in Cr.No.550 of 2025, on the file of the respondent police seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The allegation against the petitioner is that he was involved in the illegal transportation of 316 liquor bottles and supplied the same to two other accused persons who were arrested in this case, which led to the registration of the FIR. Hence, the present case.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has been falsely implicated in this case on mere suspicion and that there is no material to show that the petitioner was involved in the illegal transportation of 316 liquor bottles. Therefore, he prayed that anticipatory bail be granted to the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent police reiterated the prosecution case and submitted that the petitioner had received a sum of Rs.40,000/-, and that several liquor bottles were seized in connection with this case. He further submitted that the petitioner is involved in 36 previous cases. Hence, he vehemently opposed the grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. Considering the nature and gravity of the offence, the bad antecedents of the petitioner, and the seizure of several liquor bottles, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 2/4
