Writ petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, 1950 seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the 1st to 4th respondents to take immediate and appropriate action on petitioner's joint representation dated 03.10.2025, consequently, direct the 3rd and 4th respondents to ensure protection to petitioners life and property from the 5th respondent and his associates.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking to direct the respondents 1 to 4 to take immediate and appropriate action on the petitioners' joint representation dated 03.10.2025 and to consequently, direct the respondents 3 and 4, to ensure protection to petitioners' life and property from the fifth respondent and his associates.

2. The case of the petitioners is that the petitioners are victims of cheating and fraud committed by the fifth respondent, who deceitfully obtained their heavy commercial vehicles by false assurances and misrepresentation. Though complaints were lodged before the Sangagiri Police Station on different dates, cases were registered only for the 2/6

complaints of the petitioners 2, 3 and 5, while the remaining complaints are pending without action.

3. During the pendency of the complaints, the fifth respondent threatened the petitioners with dire consequences, including murder, if they approach this Court or pursue the matter further. In view of the lifethreatening intimidation, the petitioners submitted a joint representation dated 03.10.2025 to respondents 3 and 4 seeking police protection. As no action has been taken, the present petition has been filed.

4. When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosector appearing for the respondents 1 to 4 submits that on the basis of the complaint / joint representation dated 03.10.2025 given by the petitioners, enquiry is being conducted in CSR.No.272 of 2025.

5. Recording the said submission, the fourth respondent is directed to ensure that the enquiry in CSR.No.272 of 2025 is completed within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 3/6
