ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) The petitioner seeks a Writ of Mandamus directing respondents 1 to 4 to remove the encroachments made by respondents 5 to 8 in the government water canal in S.Nos.146/3, 146/12, 147/1, 147/4, 148/1, 148/6, 149/1 and 149/6, Aalambadi Village, Kandachipuram Taluk, Villupuram District, in accordance with law.
2. Learned State Counsel, on written instructions, submitted that the encroachers have been identified and notice under Section 7 of the Tamil Nadu Land Encroachment Act, 1905, followed by notice under Section 6 of the said Act, have been issued and the proceedings are going on. Learned State Counsel further submitted that appropriate action, in accordance with law, would be taken as expeditiously as possible.
3. In view of the aforesaid statement of the learned State Counsel, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the fourth respondent to complete the proceedings in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, within a period of three months from today. There will be no order as to costs.
