Common Prayer: Writ Petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant the PHD Incentive Increment to the petitioner and settle the arrears along with interest for the belated period within a time frame as stipulated/prescribed by this Court.

Mr.Godson Swaminathan (in all WPs.) C O M M O N O R D E R These Writ Petitions have been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to grant the PHD Incentive Increment to the petitioners and settle the arrears along with interest for the belated period within a time frame as fixed by this Court.
2. Heard the learned counsels on either side. With the consent of both sides, the Writ Petitions are taken up for hearing at the admission stage itself.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners are working as Lecturer in the first and respondents' educational institutions for the past 18 & 19 years respectively and obtained their Ph.D degree in the year 2017. He further submitted that since the petitioners acquired their Ph.D degree while serving as Lecturer, they are eligible for Ph.D incentive increment/advance increment and hence, they made several oral and written representations. He added that recently, the petitioners made a representation dated 27.04.2025, 22.09.2025 & 26.11.2025 respectively in this regard, however, there was inaction on the part of the respondents and hence, the present Writ Petitions.
4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, there shall be a direction to the fourth respondent herein / the Commissioner, Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai to consider and dispose of the petitioners' representation dated 27.04.2025, 22.09.2025 & 26.11.2025 respectively, in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With the above directions, these Writ Petitions are disposed of. There shall be no orders as to costs.
