2. By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. The case of the petitioner is that he was appointed as Sub-Inspector in the year 1997 and his name was included in the 'C' list of sub Inspectors 2/6
of Police, fit for promotion as Inspector of police for the panel year 20062007 and in the panel of Inspectors of Police, fit for promotion and appointment as Deputy Superintendent of police for the year 2018-19. However, the petitioner's name was not considered for inclusion in the promotion panel of DSPs' for the panel year 2018-19, due to registration of criminal case against him. Though he was honourably acquitted in the said criminal case, the petitioner's name was not considered for the aforesaid promotion of DSP. Hence, he made representation dated 19.08.2025 before the second respondent, seeking promotion to the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police by including his name in the panel. However, the said representation was not considered, as on date. Hence, the petitioner has come forward with the present writ petition.
4. Though many grounds have been raised in this writ petition, learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that, it would suffice, if this Court issues direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 19.08.2025.
