The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the first respondent to dispose of the appeal petition dated 02.09.2025 filed by the petitioner within a stipulated time frame, after providing an opportunity of hearing, in view of the petitioner attaining the age of superannuation on 31.08.2026.
2. Heard the learned counsels on either side. With the consent of both sides, the Writ Petition is taken up for hearing at the admission stage itself.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the alteration of date of birth from 22.08.1966 to 25.07.1968 is the subject issue. He submitted that the corrected date of birth certificate was only issued on 08.04.2021 due to pandemic situation. He further submitted that the petitioner has approached the second respondent to adjudicate his date of birth issue, however, the same was rejected through his order dated 05.08.2025 and aggrieved over the same, the appeal has been filed on 02.09.2025. He submitted that since the petitioner is at the verge of his retirement i.e., on 31.08.2026, he has no other option except to file the present petition before this Court for a speedy disposal of the appeal.

Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court directs the first respondent to consider and dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner dated 02.09.2025 on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no orders as to costs.
