Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the fourth respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 28.03.2025.

ORDER

This writ petition is filed to direct the fourth respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 28.03.2025.

2. By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The case of the petitioner is that he was retired as Reader, Department of Mathematics at Kongunadu Arts and Science College, Coimbatore on 31.12.2008. Since the petitioner is a pensioner, he is contributing the premium to the New Health Insurance Scheme, 2022. This being so, the petitioner visited his daughter's house in USA during the month of May 2023 and there, he had sudden stroke and spent a sum of 2/6

Rs.10,87,315/- for his illness. After returning to India, he submitted an application dated 28.03.2025 to the fourth respondent, seeking reimbursement of medical expenses. However, the same was not considered, as on date. Hence, the petitioner has come forward with the present writ petition.

4. Though many grounds have been raised in this writ petition, learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that, it would suffice, if this Court issues direction to the fourth respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 28.03.2025.

5. Learned Additional Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner's application dated 28.03.2025 will be considered and appropriate orders will be passed within a time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

6. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.

Considering the limited relief sought by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court without going into the merits of the case, directs the fourth respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 28.03.2025 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. With the aforesaid direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
