Respondents Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the 3rd respondents to The Superintending Engineer, Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited,(TANGEDCO) Chengalpet Considering the petitioners representation dated 03.09.2025 to immediately release the entire arrears of pension along with interest thereon from the date of the petitioners death till the date of actual payment and pass.

ORDER

Mr.K. Purushothaman, learned counsel takes notice for respondents. By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 03.09.2025 and to settle the pension, terminal benefits and other service dues payable to her as the legally wedded wife of Late K. Palaiyan, who served in the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (now TANGEDCO).

3. It is the case of the petitioner that she is a septuagenarian and the legally wedded wife of Late K. Palaiyan After the demise of her husband on 15.02.2009, she obtained a Legal Heir Certificate declaring her as the sole legal heir. However, despite submission of all relevant documents and repeated representations, the pensionary and terminal benefits due to her husband have not been settled to her. Hence this writ petition.

4. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the entire records.

5. Considering the limited relief sought and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the claim, the respondents are directed to consider the 2/4

petitioner's representation dated 03.09.2025, along with all supporting documents, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
