ORDER

The petitioner, who apprehend arrest at the hands of the respondent police

for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 296(b), 115(2), 324(2), 281 and 351(3) of BNS and 4 of TNPHW Act in Crime No.567 of 2025, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The allegation against the petitioner is that the petitioner joined hands with other accused threatened the witness in the murder case (defacto complainant's daughter) and also threatened the defacto complainant. Hence, the complaint.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that a false complaint has been lodged since the petitioner has some previous cases, and for the purpose of detaining him, this case has been registered. Therefore, he prays for grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the respondent police reiterated the prosecution case and submitted that the petitioner is having 9 previous cases including a case of murder. Hence opposed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. Considering the nature of the allegations and the fact that the petitioner has bad antecedents of 9 previous cases, and considering the fact that a witness in a criminal case has been threatened, if the petitioner is granted bail there is a

likelihood that he will indulge in similar offences, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
