ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Heard on admission.

2. The present writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent/District Collector, Chennai, to dispose of the pending proceedings dated 13.11.2025 in a time bound manner.

3. Learned State counsel submitted that it is the Revenue Divisional Officer, Central Chennai Revenue Division, Chennai District, who is the competent authority to consider the pending proceedings and, as such, by communication dated 4.12.2025, the District Revenue Officer, Chennai District requested the Revenue Divisional Officer, Central Chennai Revenue Division, Chennai District, to consider the same. The said communication is taken on record.

4. In view of the above, nothing survives for adjudication in the writ petition. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. However, the Revenue Divisional Officer, Central Chennai Revenue Division, Chennai District, is directed to take a final decision, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of four weeks from today. There shall be no order as to costs.

Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition stands closed.
